Step 1.

Submit Your L2G Application

The owner of the property to be re-landscaped must submit to LBWD the on-line application or the approved paper form. We will notify you whether your application is approved, usually within two weeks of receiving the application.

Step 2.

Receive Training and Design Your L2G Landscape

If your application is approved, you will have 45 days after we send the approval to you, to complete both of the following:

1. You must either complete the free on-line landscape design class (it takes about one hour) or attend our in-classroom training (visit lbwater.org for available class dates or call 562-570-2308); and
2. We must receive from you a simple drawing showing the proposed design of your L2G landscape; this drawing must comply with the requirements spelled out on the “Design Requirements” tab. Don’t freak out: we expect most of the drawings we receive will be pencil drawings done by your average homeowner, not professionals.

Failure to meet this 45-day limit will result in revocation of LBWD’s approval of the application. We will notify you whether we have a record of your successfully completing both Step 2.1 and 2.2, usually within two weeks of receiving the landscape design.

Step 3.

Install Your L2G Landscape and Receive Your Incentive Payment!

You will have 120 calendar days after we send notice that your design was approved and that we have a record of your completing the landscape-design class, to complete the L2G installation and for us to receive notice from you that the installation is complete.

Failure to meet the 120-day limit will result in automatic revocation of LBWD’s approval of the application and revocation of LBWD’s commitment to provide the L2G incentive payment.

Once we (LBWD) have documented to our satisfaction the above requirements were met and that the landscape was constructed according to the L2G design we approved, we will provide the incentive in the form of a check made payable to you, the Property Owner. Payments will typically be made within approximately 45 calendar days of our being notified that the L2G installation is complete.

Step 4.

Maintain landscape

The L2G landscape must be maintained according to the requirements stated in the L2G Terms and Conditions.
